Wester Land Taing is a stunning beach located on the remote and picturesque Shetland Islands in Scotland. Known for its untouched natural beauty, it is considered one of the most picturesque beaches in the region. With its pristine golden sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and dramatic cliffs as a backdrop, Wester Land Taing offers visitors a breathtaking sight.

The beach is situated on the western coast of the mainland, approximately 6 miles south of the town of Scalloway. Its remote location makes it a hidden gem that is less crowded compared to other popular beaches in Scotland. The lack of facilities and infrastructure adds to its charm, as it remains unspoiled and pristine.

Wester Land Taing is an ideal spot for nature lovers and photographers, offering unparalleled opportunities to capture the beauty of the rugged coastline, dramatic sunsets, and the abundance of wildlife that can be found in the area. Seals, otters, and various seabirds can often be spotted along the shore.

Access to the beach is relatively easy, with a short walk from the nearest parking area. However, visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be rocky and uneven in some parts.

Whether you are seeking solitude, a peaceful walk along the shore, or simply a place to admire the beauty of nature, Wester Land Taing provides an unforgettable experience for all who visit.

Lonely house on Bigga Bigga is an island in Yell Sound. There is a ruined chapel and this house or cottage and that's about all. I don't know if it is inhabited, but if it is they probably have very little trouble from their neighbours. For another, slightly closer view, see HU4578 : House and enclosure on Bigga

There is an enclosed area of land to its southwest (left as viewed) that presumably either sustained some crops or else provided some shelter for sheep perhaps.
