Lade above the River Garry A long gully above a steep river is almost certainly a mill lade. The path is a waymarked Forestry Commission path and is rather scenic. Well worth breaking a journey for.

Dense birch woods, Glen Garry A few years back I clambered down this hillside for a bit to get a first visit to a grid square for the site. I did not try again this time, the trees have grown a fair bit since. I have done my fair share (and lost a camera) bashing through dense birks in Norway.
