Firth of Clyde, The Ashton Safe Water Mark The Ashton buoy is a pillar-style fairway buoy (aka safe water mark) as indicated by its red and white vertical stripes and the red ball topmark. A safe water mark is a sea mark used in maritime pilotage to indicate the end of a channel. They usually imply that open, deep and safe water lies ahead. 

This buoy is in the Firth of Clyde, about 1 mile from the shore at Ashton.

Girl on a Suitcase - 'Wee Annie' Wee Annie sits on her suitcase at the north end of Gourock's Kempock Street with her bucket and spade in her right hand. She is full of anticipation and readiness to depart on her holiday down the Firth of Clyde (Doon the Watter).

Angela Hunter was commissioned by Riverside Inverclyde to create a nostalgic sculpture which would capture the heyday of Gourock as a holiday destination and embarkation point for the Clyde Steamers. She created Girl on a Suitcase and is affectionally known as Wee Annie. The statue was unveiled in December 2011.

Old Admiralty Jetty - Gourock Bay, Inverclyde The now derelict Admiralty Jetty was used as a terminal for liberty boats from the U.S. Navy Submarine Base (Subron 14) at Holy Loch.
