Coalbrookdale is a small village located in the Ironbridge Gorge, within the county of Shropshire in England. Situated in a picturesque valley, it is renowned for its historical significance as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The village is nestled along the banks of the River Severn and is surrounded by lush green hills, adding to its natural beauty.

Coalbrookdale's claim to fame lies in its rich coal and iron deposits, which played a crucial role in its industrial development. In the 18th century, Abraham Darby I successfully smelted iron using coke instead of charcoal, revolutionizing the iron industry. This breakthrough paved the way for the establishment of the world's first iron bridge, the Iron Bridge, which spans the Severn and remains an iconic landmark.

The village itself exudes a sense of history and charm, with its well-preserved Georgian buildings and quaint streets. Visitors can explore the Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, housed in the original Coalbrookdale Company offices, to learn about the area's industrial heritage. The museum displays a fascinating collection of ironwork, including intricate castings and machinery.

Surrounded by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust's ten other museums, Coalbrookdale offers plenty of opportunities for cultural exploration. Additionally, the area is a haven for nature enthusiasts, with numerous walking trails and picnic spots available to enjoy the stunning countryside scenery.

Coalbrookdale continues to be a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from around the world who come to delve into its industrial past and soak in the beauty of the valley.
