Dan-Yr-Ogof Show Caves - Bone Cave This is the long covered walk way that leads to Bone Cave.  This was the first cave to be discovered in the complex that now extends for miles beneath the welsh mountainside, including three show caves.  Known as Bone Cave (or Ogof Yr Esgyrn in Welsh) bones have been discovered from prehistoric times in the cave.  Today, the smallest of the three caves that can be visited at the centre, a covered path allows visitors to see the stuffed bears, wolves and other animals that have been placed in the cave for atmosphere!

Cwm Haffes This is one of the main rivers flowing off the Old Red Sandstone of the Black Mountain. Many thousands of years ago it sank into the limestone upstream of here, forming parts of Dan yr Ogof cave on its route back to the surface, but since then it has been captured along its present surface route.

Sinc y Giedd A river drains across the moorland of the Black Mountain to sink, on reaching the limestone, at Sinc y Giedd. This is the main source of the water emerging from Dan yr Ogof caves. In dry weather the water sinks upstream of this picture.

Waun Fignen Felen A large evil-looking bog below Fan Hir. The National Park Authority is laying straw bales over the peat in order to stabilise the bog and prevent run-off into the Dan-yr-Ogof caves below, as well as encouraging regeneration of the vegetation.

Cathedral Cave This is the final chamber of Cathedral Cave in the Dan-yr-Ogof cave complex.  The cave is in fact one large chamber and the footpath has been designed to cleverly pass between the two waterfalls that flow into the chamber.

The cave is a licensed venue for weddings and these take place in this chamber.
