Bridge over the Abhainn Mhiabhaig This is part of an excellent track which takes the fisherman to Lochs Scourst and Bhoisimid (Voshmid). For the bird watcher, it leads to a golden eagle observatory and for the walker, it forms part of a full day trek through some wonderful Harris scenery.

Eagle country or what? What a wild part of the world this is! On the high slopes there is the occasional sheep to be seen and the spaniels have just flushed two hen grouse and a snipe. The track leads to the eagle observation hut of Gleann Mhiabhaig.

Eagle spotting by Loch Scourst Keep an eye on your dog! I know of a report from the Loch Shin region in Sutherland where a man lost his terrier to an eagle. One eagle was spotted here during an hour's visit. The spaniels lived to tell the tale.
