Riviera Hotel The Riviera Hotel at Bowleaze was built in 1937 in the Art Deco style. Built in Reinforced concrete by Truscon Ltd , using the Mouchel/Hennebique system, it was designed by L Stewart Smith. The total cost was £40,000.  It is a grade II listed building.

It became a hospital for American forces during World War 2, and after that a Pontins holiday camp, in which role it continued until the present owners bought it in 2009 and are undertaking a serious restoration.
