Former runway, RAF Stoney Cross Looking down the course of runway 15/33 in the 15 direction. It was a concrete runway, but all has been removed except for a lay-by on the road (in foreground) that was built on part of the width of intersecting runway 07/25. The third runway, 01/19, is also partly used by Forest Road. Apart from a few concrete lay-bys, other traces are not obvious from ground level, but the course of the runways and some of the taxiways show up clearly enough on aerial views. The airfield was operative from 1942 to 1948.
