Llyn Pen Aran near summit of Aran Benllyn It must be unusual to have such a large body of water in such an open setting this high up and close to the summit of a major hill. The Rhinog range is in the background.

Pool near summit of Aran Benllyn More than once the fence passes through pools rather than round them. It probably dries up completely from time to time. This one was especially attractive on such a fine day. A bonus is the distant view to the Rhinog range - Diffwys, Y Llethr, Rhinog Fach and Rhinog Fawr.
