Pine wood regeneration, Glen Alladale Fencing around the pinewoods to protect regeneration from the young tree munching deer. Fencing is not always popular, some prefer a drastic reduction in deer numbers. Fences can damage grouse stocks, as black grouse tend to fly into them at high speed. However this is an emergency, the forest is dying and needs rapid help. Hopefully new stock is now emerging, but the dense heather in Glen Alladale may suppress the growth of seedling pines.
