Two perfect tee shots on the 3rd hole at Gedney Hill Golf Course Although the 3rd hole is very short - 105 yards off the white tees and 100 off the yellow tees - it is extremely tricky to play. The tee is often behind the large tree to the right of the flag and there are two water hazards between the tee and the green. On this particular day the two players made a birdie and a par.
To comply with government restrictions during the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic players were not allowed to touch the flag stick and the hole was partially filled with sponge so the ball didn't drop into the hole fully. The bar in the clubhouse was still closed but a slight relaxation in the rules now allowed players to buy takeaway drinks from the club shop and drink them on outdoor picnic tables at the end of the round.
