Sustrans millennium milepost by NCN27, Colwill Wood

National Cycle Network Route 27 is a 99 miles long route between Ilfracombe and Plymouth, of which 71 miles are traffic-free. The route combines the beaches and estuaries of North Devon with the lush green valleys of the Torridge, the Tavy, the Walkham and other evocative West Country rivers. The route also skirts round the western flank of Dartmoor offering superb views of Cornwall and the surrounding area. There is also many local links and spurs to explore. Largely tracing the course of former railway lines, the route takes you through tunnels and across the breathtaking viaducts and bridges bequeathed by Victorian railway engineers.

Former Plymouth City Airport

Plymouth City Airport is a 'mothballed' airport located within the City of Plymouth 4 miles north northeast of the city centre at Derriford. The airport opened on this site in 1925 and was officially opened by the Prince of Wales, in 1931. The airport is owned by Plymouth City Council and leased to Plymouth-based company Sutton Harbour Holdings. Following the withdrawal of London flights in early 2011, the airport's owners said passenger totals had fallen to fewer than 100 a day. The London Stock Exchange was notified on 28 April 2011 that the airport would close by the end of the year. The airport closed and ceased all operations on 23 December 2011. As result of the announced closure a public campaign group was formed to protect the airport site. In 2015 off the back of the attempts by Viable, a social enterprise was set up called Fly Plymouth with the aim of acquiring the Airport site and reopening the Airport.

The chain consists of over 150 restaurants and their slogan is "HOME OF THE ROAST". Sites open at 7am, serving breakfast until 11am (10:30am on Sundays) and then carvery is operated by from 11:30am until 10pm.
