The Rough, located in Lincolnshire, is a dense woodland area known for its natural beauty and diverse wildlife. Spanning over a vast expanse, this forested region is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Covering an area of approximately 500 acres, The Rough is predominantly made up of native deciduous trees such as oak, beech, and birch. The thick foliage creates a serene and picturesque environment for visitors to explore. Walking trails wind their way through the forest, providing ample opportunities for hikers to immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings.

The Rough is home to a variety of wildlife species, including deer, foxes, birds, and small mammals. Birdwatchers can spot a range of feathered creatures, from woodpeckers to owls, while keen-eyed observers may even catch a glimpse of elusive woodland creatures like badgers and hedgehogs.

Throughout the year, The Rough offers a different spectacle with each season. In spring, the forest is adorned with vibrant flowers and blossoming trees, creating a colorful display. During the summer, the forest provides a cool retreat from the heat, with sunlight filtering through the leaves. Autumn brings a stunning array of colors as the leaves change, while winter offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, with the trees standing tall and bare, sometimes adorned with a dusting of snow.

The Broadway, Woodhall Spa Woodhall Spa's parish council makes its presence felt in the centre of this most untypical Lincolnshire town. At one time a railway crossed The Broadway at this location by means of a skewed level crossing; the site of Woodhall Spa station, which closed to passengers in 1954, is behind the photographer. Freight trains continued to run until 1971.

Station Road, Woodhall Spa The Station Road name is one of the few reminders that a railway once passed through Woodhall Spa, with a level crossing in the centre of the town. Passenger services were withdrawn in 1954. Here the library stands adjacent to Zucci, a Mediterranean bistro.

Woodhall Spa Conservative Club Although it occupies a prominent position on Spa Road this rather drab building is not really in keeping with the centre of Woodhall Spa. Nevertheless, it appears to be maintained in a tidy condition. Politically-affiliated clubs like this one can be found in many towns and cities and are usually required to make party donations. The sign in the foreground, despite its colour, is not associated with the club.
