Dyke is a small and picturesque village located in the county of Lincolnshire, in eastern England. Situated about 6 miles southwest of the town of Bourne, Dyke is nestled in a rural setting, surrounded by beautiful countryside and farmland.

The village itself is characterized by its quaint and traditional English charm, with a scattering of attractive stone cottages and well-maintained gardens. The centerpiece of Dyke is its historic church, St. Andrew's, which dates back to the 12th century. This stunning example of Norman architecture is a must-see for visitors and locals alike.

A notable feature of Dyke is its close proximity to the River Glen, which runs alongside the village. This provides opportunities for peaceful walks along the riverbank, as well as fishing and boating activities for those seeking a more active pursuit.

Despite its small size, Dyke boasts a strong sense of community, with various local events and gatherings taking place throughout the year. The village hall serves as a hub for these activities, hosting social events, clubs, and meetings for residents to come together and connect.

For amenities and services, the nearby town of Bourne offers a wider range of options, including shops, supermarkets, and schools. The city of Lincoln is also within reasonable driving distance, providing additional amenities and attractions.

In summary, Dyke offers a tranquil and idyllic setting for those seeking a peaceful countryside retreat. Its historic charm, natural beauty, and close-knit community make it a desirable place to call home or visit in Lincolnshire.

Footpath to Cawthorpe from A15 This footpath is well-used and maintained as a path: the pedestrians and a few cyclists have crops in varying stages of growth from being ploughed up to walking by crops as tall as a child all within a year.

This footpath follows the course of the Roman Road 'King Street', which having come through Bourne from the south makes a turn at the corner on the A15 and heads toward Stainfield and hence to Ancaster.

Public footpath signs, near Morton Two footpath signs: one points towards Morton, the other points southeast and links up with other footpaths - towards Dyke and Bourne. The white railings are to warn of a watercourse and culvert; similar railings are on the other side of the road - where the stream enters the culvert.
