Battledown Flyover This is Hampshire's only flying junction. The line from Southampton crosses over the lines to and from the West of England. Nearby, both cross over the road, Pack Lane. Rail over rail over road!
The rail lines actually meet a mile to the north-east at Worting Junction.

Church at Wootton St. Lawrence The Church of St. Lawrence was rebuilt in 1864, incorporating many original features of the earlier mediaeval building. The north arcade dates from the twelfth century and the tower and some of the windows are early fourteenth century.

Pack Lane railway bridge The road goes under the railway just before the Exeter and Weymouth lines to Waterloo converge, on the approach to Basingstoke. Tea often spilt at this point (if you're on the train).

Railway Cottages, Pack Lane, Hampshire These cottages, on Pack Lane very near to Worting Junction, were built by the London and South Western Railway Company to house railway workers.  They remained in railway ownership throughout their existence.  The water supply was by means of a well, and there was no mains sewage either.  The well-known and popular Methodist lay preacher, Fred Randall, lived in the nearer cottage for some years.  The cottages were demolished around 1970 and no trace now remains.

Here the powerful West Country class locomotive No. 34034, 'Honiton', is seen on a working from Bournemouth to Waterloo, nearing Worting Junction.
