Monument and beacon in Emley Millennium Green The monument on the commemorates the opening of the Green. The beacon has on it the arms and motto 'Bee Fast' of the Savile family. The site was purchased from them. Near to the beacon there is a view indicator that indicates the direction and distance to many distant places, including the North Pole; visibility was not good enough to see that today. Emley TV mast is in the distance. This was supposed to be a sunny afternoon, and I came here for the sunset! An internet search produces some nice sunny photos of the beacon etc.
