Church of St Mary, Oare, W. Somerset Oare is off the beaten track, but attracts visitors due to the connection with 'Lorna Doone', and Jan Ridd's marriage.
The church is a Grade II*, and dates back to the C15. The tower was rebuilt in the C19 from local stone and coarse rubble. Lighting is by oil lamps even today.
