Limekiln Covert, located in Caernarfonshire, is a picturesque wood and forest area renowned for its natural beauty and rich history. Situated near the town of Caernarfon in North Wales, Limekiln Covert covers a vast expanse of approximately 200 acres.

The woodland is predominantly composed of native tree species, including oak, birch, and beech. These trees create a dense canopy, providing a haven for a diverse range of wildlife. Visitors can expect to encounter various bird species, such as woodpeckers and owls, as well as small mammals like squirrels and hedgehogs.

One of the notable features of Limekiln Covert is its historic limekilns, which date back to the 18th century. These kilns were used to convert limestone into quicklime, which was then used for agricultural purposes and in the construction industry. The remains of these limekilns can still be seen today, adding an intriguing historical element to the woodland.

The forest also boasts a network of well-maintained walking trails, allowing visitors to explore its beauty at their own pace. These paths weave through the woodland, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the nearby Snowdonia National Park.

Limekiln Covert is not only a haven for nature enthusiasts but also a popular destination for outdoor activities such as birdwatching, hiking, and photography. Its peaceful atmosphere and natural charm make it an ideal place for relaxation and connection with the natural world.
