It's a pleasure to walk down such a busy high street with its variety of small independent traders seemingly happily co-existing cheek-by-jowl with some of the usual national retail chains and major banks. Lots of colour, plenty of individuality and obviously tailored to a local customer base.

A rookery above Newcastle Emlyn
This rookery stands out against the still budding treetops and the noise is pretty conspicuous; parent rooks 'caw' and hop and flap about and in the midst of the commotion I caught the piping of baby rooks demanding feeding.

This old place has seen better days and redevelopment has started but might have been suspended for some reason.
Sheep and lambs in Adpar
These are Oxford Down sheep and lambs - very distinctive facially - and beautiful. This confident little lamb approached when I called and was curious, intelligent and adventurous.
Afon Teifi above Castell Newydd-Emlyn
This river forms the boundary between Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire for most of its 75 mile length, eventually flowing into the sea below the town of Cardigan.
Castell Newydd Emlyn
This is the remains of what was a gatehouse and south tower destroyed in 1644 during the Civil War. The original stone structure dates from the last quarter of 13th C. Naturally enough the ruins are Grade I listed with Cadw Building ID: 9716.
