RSPCA Liverpool Branch

The Liverpool Branch is the world's oldest animal cruelty charity, founded in 1809, thirteen years before the national RSPCA charity was founded. The present location of the Branch Animal Centre is here at Lodge Farm, Halewood. Update May 2021: The RSPCA site at Halewood closed down in May 2019 and is now being redeveloped for housing.

New Hutte Wood

New Hutte Wood lies behind the New Hutte estate, a young wood, originally a field first planted in the 1990s as part of the Mersey Forest, it was revitalised in 2011/12 through the community woodlands scheme.
