New milepost This is a casting made in 2011 by Cleveland Corrosion for Ryedale UDC to replace a lost milepost.   It is 500m west of Appleton-le-Street.  It was cast to the same pattern as the original post made by F Mattison & Co of Bedale.   The original post was Grade II listed 1316064 but it is not known when it was lost.

Their name is in the rectangle on the left side.   On the right side is Cleveland Corrosion Control, Staithes, 2010.   This replacement was funded by Ryedale UDC.
