Glannoventa, also known as Ravenglass Roman Bath House, is a heritage site located in Cumberland, England. It is situated on the outskirts of the village of Ravenglass, overlooking the estuary of the River Esk. Glannoventa was a Roman fort and bath house that played a significant role in the Roman occupation of Britain.

The fort was established in the second century AD and served as a strategic outpost along the western coast of England. It was positioned to guard the nearby port and control trade routes to and from Ireland. The fort was inhabited by Roman soldiers and played a crucial role in maintaining Roman control over the region.

The bath house at Glannoventa was a typical Roman structure, consisting of hot and cold rooms, heated by an underfloor heating system known as a hypocaust. The bath house served as a place for relaxation, socializing, and maintaining personal hygiene. It was an important part of Roman culture and daily life.

Today, Glannoventa is a well-preserved archaeological site managed by English Heritage. Visitors can explore the remains of the fort and bath house, which include the foundations of various buildings, the hypocaust system, and remnants of the surrounding defensive walls. Interpretive panels provide information about the site's history and its significance in the Roman occupation of Britain.

Glannoventa offers a glimpse into Roman life and architecture, providing an opportunity for visitors to learn about the ancient history of Cumberland and the role it played in the wider Roman Empire.

Roman Bath House Remains, Ravenglass Ravenglass Roman Bath House is a ruined ancient Roman bath house at Ravenglass, Cumbria, England. Belonging to a 2nd-century Roman fort and naval base. The bath house is described by Matthew Hyde in his update to the Pevsner Guide to Cumbria as "an astonishing survival". The still standing walls are 13 ft (4 m) high, there are patches of the internal rendering, in dull red and white cement, and traces of the splayed window openings remain.

The relatively good state of preservation of the bath house is believed to be attributable to its being adapted for domestic use in the medieval period.
