Caer Drewyn is an ancient hillfort located in Merionethshire, Wales. Situated atop a prominent hill, it overlooks the village of Corwen and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. This heritage site holds great historical and archaeological significance.

The hillfort is believed to have been constructed during the Iron Age, around 2,500 years ago. It consists of a series of multiple ramparts and ditches, forming a roughly oval-shaped enclosure. The fortification measures approximately 200 meters in length and 100 meters in width, encompassing an area of around 1.3 hectares.

Caer Drewyn's strategic location and impressive defensive features suggest that it served as a stronghold during ancient times. The ramparts would have provided protection to the inhabitants, while also acting as a symbol of power and authority. The fort's position on the hilltop allowed for clear visibility and control over the surrounding landscape, making it an ideal defensive position.

Excavations at the site have revealed evidence of human occupation, including pottery fragments and other artifacts. These findings suggest that the hillfort was not only a defensive structure but also a thriving settlement, possibly housing a small community.

Today, Caer Drewyn is a popular destination for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers. Visitors can explore the ramparts, walk along the well-preserved ditches, and immerse themselves in the site's ancient atmosphere. The panoramic views from the summit are particularly awe-inspiring, providing a glimpse into the past while showcasing the beauty of the Welsh countryside.
