The locomotive is about to run round its train for the return journey bunker first. No. 41298 is an Ivatt designed Class 2 2-6-2T built at Crewe in 1951 and was one of a class of 130 (120 being built by British Railways). It was withdrawn in 1967 and after a peripatetic existence came to the Isle of Wight in 2008 and was returned to steam in 2015. This is a large engine by Isle of Wight standards.
