Hickling village sign The sign depicts what the Augustinian Priory may have once looked like, apparently floating or sinking into Hickling Broad. Actually it was neither, it was good ol’ King Henry VIII who dissolved all such places.
On the post is the priory’s seal and the colourful spandrels is a reed cutter on the left and a peat digger on the right and on the reverse a swallow butterfly and a grey heron.
