Little Pinnacle is a small uninhabited island located off the coast of Kirkcudbrightshire, a historic county in southwest Scotland. Situated in the Solway Firth, the island is part of a group of islets known as the Pinnacle Rocks. Little Pinnacle is the smallest of these islets, measuring just 0.5 acres in size.

The island is characterized by rugged cliffs, rocky outcrops, and sparse vegetation. Its distinctive feature is a pinnacle-shaped rock formation that rises approximately 20 meters from the sea. This pinnacle is a striking natural landmark and serves as a nesting site for various seabird species, including gulls and fulmars.

Access to Little Pinnacle is challenging due to its remote location and lack of facilities. Visitors interested in exploring the island must rely on private boats or organized tours. The surrounding waters are known for their strong currents, making navigation tricky.

Little Pinnacle, like the other Pinnacle Rocks, holds historical significance. It is believed to have been used as a lookout point during the Viking Age, providing a vantage point for monitoring sea traffic and potential threats. Archaeological surveys have uncovered remnants of ancient structures, suggesting that the island may have been inhabited in the past.

Despite its limited accessibility and absence of human habitation, Little Pinnacle offers a unique opportunity for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers to observe a diverse range of marine wildlife in a pristine and undisturbed environment.
