Leidie is positioned on the eastern side of Shetland, extending into the North Sea. It is known for its dramatic cliffs, which rise steeply above the crashing waves below. These cliffs, composed of rugged rocks and sedimentary layers, provide a stunning backdrop to the surrounding landscape.

The headland offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area and the vast expanse of the North Sea. On clear days, visitors can marvel at the distant horizon, spotting passing ships or even glimpsing wildlife such as seabirds soaring above the waves.

Leidie is also recognized for its unique flora and fauna. The exposed cliffs provide a habitat for various plant species, including sea pink, sea campion, and thrift. The surrounding waters are home to a diverse range of marine life, including seals, dolphins, and a variety of fish species.

Access to Leidie is relatively easy, with a well-maintained footpath leading to the headland. It is a popular spot for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and photographers who seek to capture the beauty of the rugged coastal scenery. Squirrel Crossing There are a few trees on Shetland but not any squirrels. In some location you can see otters. I parked my car near this sign to climb South Hill Of Lunna. It was a steep climb up the moorland next to the edge of a small quarry.
