Dundonald Camp The low hills on the horizon are on the Isle of Arran. This is in category "Military Installation" since it used to be the army's Young Tradesmen's camp but the houses are now (2008) being sold to private buyers and a developer plans to build on the rest of the site.

Modern entrance to Hillhouse Quarry This is a busy spot! While I was there, there must have been a lorry movement about every minute or two.

Not the Mill Rock Thinking that I was about to stand atop the Mill Rock, I checked my GPS and discovered that the rock in front of me was not what I had assumed. Without my wellies, I was unable to wade out to the sandbank where the waves were breaking, and thereby 'bagging' the green square. So near, yet so wet!

Knock Knock.. "Who's there?"
"Rose."
"Rose who?"
"Rows and rows of wee hooses!"

Combining serious geographing with a little ditty from schooldays, these four-in-a-block houses follow the curve of North Shore Road and have a wonderful view of the sea.

Curlew on Barassie Beach This one either has a very short neck or was trying to keep low because of the high winds. It may yet be a whimbrel, but as they are rarer than curlews, I'm hedging my bets. I stand to be corrected however.
