Glen Speireig Bay A lovely camping spot on the west coast of Jura. If you can spot the two seagulls sitting on the rocks towards the left of the photo (white dots against the sea), the left hand one is sitting on an egg. Normally there are nests everywhere at this time of year on the rocks and raised beaches, but there were noticeably fewer than normal this year.

Gleann Speireig The best piece of advice I can give anyone contemplating walking the West coast of Jura is when you find a path - any kind of path - then stick to it. This is hard walking with much climbing and rough going underfoot.

Feral goats on Glendebadel Beach All along the coast there are feral goats. These are culled by the estate with there being considerable interest in hunting them from German and Austrian nationals in particular.
