Loch Pooltiel / Loch Pol an t-Sìl A view from Lower Milovaig across the loch to the waterfalls which plunge straight into the sea from the slopes of Ben Ettow and Scoval. Alexander Forbes in "Place-names of Skye" (1923) states that this inlet of the sea. formerly known as Loch a' Chuain ("The Ocean Loch") was renamed after Diel, a Danish prince whose body was washed ashore here and buried in Cille Chomhain, though a more prosaic etymology suggests Pol an t-Sìl ("The Seed Pool").
