Cei Ballast is a small island located off the coast of Caernarfonshire, Wales. It is situated in the Irish Sea, approximately 4 miles west of the town of Criccieth. The island is part of the larger Llŷn Peninsula and is known for its scenic beauty, rugged coastlines, and diverse wildlife.

Cei Ballast covers an area of around 50 acres and has a rocky terrain with a few small sandy beaches. It is primarily composed of granite and shale, giving it a distinctive appearance. The island is uninhabited and has no permanent structures or facilities.

Due to its secluded location and lack of human activity, Cei Ballast has become an important habitat for various species of seabirds. It is particularly known as a breeding ground for razorbills, guillemots, and puffins, which nest along the cliffs and in the crevices of the rocks. The surrounding waters also support a rich marine ecosystem, attracting seals, dolphins, and even occasional sightings of whales.

Access to Cei Ballast is limited, and visitors are advised to take caution due to the rugged nature of the island. However, boat tours and wildlife excursions are available from nearby towns, providing an opportunity to explore the island's natural beauty and observe its abundant wildlife.

Overall, Cei Ballast offers a unique and picturesque experience for nature enthusiasts and those seeking tranquility amidst the stunning Welsh coastal landscape.
