Eilean Meadhanach is a small island located off the coast of Ross-shire in Scotland. It is situated in the Inner Sound, between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland. The island is approximately 1.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide, with a rugged coastline and rolling hills.

Eilean Meadhanach is uninhabited and is mainly used for grazing sheep. The island is known for its rich biodiversity, with a variety of seabirds nesting on the cliffs and seals often seen basking on the rocks along the shoreline. The surrounding waters are also teeming with marine life, making it a popular spot for fishing and wildlife enthusiasts.

Small cave There are a few small caves on this side of the island, just around from this one is a sheep-fank built into a cave. These caves are small, dry and safe.

Crowlin Harbour This fine natural harbour is well sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds. Those dark specks are not dirt in the camera - a couple of dozen seals came to see what I was doing there!

Crowlin Isles from above Culduie From this vantage point, it's possible to see what is less apparent on the islands themselves - that the islands share the bedrock with the mainland, the sandstone strata dipping consistently with those near Toscaig in the foreground. The Caolas Mor is simply a glaciated valley that happens to be below sea level and thus divides the islands from the mainland. In the background is Skye (geologically distinct from this area) and a handful of other islands of the Inner Sound.
