Tank on the Otterburn Ranges I think this might be the same Chieftain tank that Ashley Lightfoot photographed. NT8803 : Tank! Neither the intervening years nor the trainee soldiers have been kind to it; parts of it have so many bullet holes they bear more resemblance to a colander.

T-55 tank on the Otterburn Ranges This particular specimen has clearly taken a lot of punishment over the years. The 'sloped armour' front was famously pioneered by its illustrious WW2 predecessor, the T-34. Not so reassuring for its occupants is the ease with which this part of the tank has been turned into a colander, by what appear to be fairly low calibre projectiles. Curious to know how a Soviet era T-55 made its way to the Otterburn Ranges.
