Otter holt by the Afon Lwyd, Garn Lakes LNR

Holt constructed by Gwent Wildlife Trust working party, with some guidance from Torfaen Countryside staff. The wire mesh fence on the river bank was removed. The vehicles are on the minor road to the Furnace Sidings railway station.

Cycle & pedestrian path to Garn Lakes

NCR 492 comes up the road from the left and through the squeeze stile into the local nature reserve. The black and orange board on the wall shows that this is part of the World Heritage Site.

New otter holt by Afon Lwyd

Holt SO2309 : Otter holt by the Afon Lwyd, Garn Lakes LNR of recently felled small trees built by Gwent Wildlife Trust and wire mesh fence by engineered river removed. There are two more holts towards the top of the picture, all in Garn Lakes LNR.

Two trains on Blaenavon's Heritage Railway

On the left is a short coal train heading for Blaenavon High Level Station while on the right is a passenger train being propelled back from Big Pit Halt. The locomotives are ex-industrial tank engines.
