Walking back to Coignafearn Old Lodge It was pleasant to have the opportunity to walk on grass rather than the hard track. The car park at the end of the public road is just beyond the Old Lodge (the lower of the two buildings seen here).
The track on the hillside climbs high onto Carn Coire Dhealanaich.

Kennels at Coignafearn old lodge Relatively plush accommodation for the hounds, not untypical of highland estates.

The long straight road Or, in this case, track. It heads up the glen to Coignafearn new lodge, and points beyond.

Coignafearn old lodge Although having the appearance of a steading, this was in fact the old lodge. The accommodation seems to consist of individual apartments opening out onto the quadrangle around which the building is built, and despite the "old" tag is still in use by the estate.

View down Strathdearn Taken from near Coignafearn old lodge. A bit of the Findhorn is visible, as it flows through its flat plain. A corner of the kennel block can be seen on the left.

View down Strathdearn Taken from almost on the square boundary, looking almost down the square boundary. The Findorn is typically a broad river flowing through a very flat plain, as seen here. I wonder what happens when it is in spate.
