Ben More is a prominent hill located in the southern Highlands of Scotland, specifically in the county of Perthshire. With an elevation of 1,174 meters (3,852 feet), it is considered one of the highest peaks in this region. Ben More is part of the Tarmachan Ridge, which forms an imposing backdrop to the village of Crianlarich.

The hill is a popular destination for hikers and mountaineers due to its challenging terrain and stunning views. It offers a variety of routes to the summit, ranging from relatively straightforward paths to more demanding ascents that require rock scrambling skills. The most commonly used route starts from the north, following an initial steep ascent through rocky terrain before reaching a ridge that leads to the summit.

From the top of Ben More, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. On clear days, it is possible to see as far as the Ben Lawers range, Loch Tay, and even the distant peaks of Glencoe. The hill also offers opportunities for wildlife spotting, with red deer and mountain hares often seen in the area.

Despite its beauty, Ben More can be subject to rapidly changing weather conditions and snow cover, making it essential for climbers to be adequately prepared and equipped. The hill is often tackled as part of a longer hike, with some adventurers combining it with the nearby hill of Stob Binnein to create a challenging and rewarding day out in the Perthshire mountains.
