Range Park is a picturesque natural reserve located in Suffolk, England. Situated on the outskirts of the village, it encompasses vast stretches of downs and moorland, providing a haven for wildlife and a peaceful retreat for visitors.

The park, spanning over several hundred acres, offers a diverse landscape that includes rolling hills, grassy meadows, and heathland. The downs are characterized by their gentle slopes and are adorned with a variety of plant species, such as wildflowers and gorse bushes, creating a vibrant and colorful scenery during the warmer months.

Moorland, on the other hand, presents a more rugged terrain with patches of heather, bracken, and scattered trees. This unique combination of habitats attracts a wide range of wildlife, including birds, mammals, and reptiles. Birdwatchers can enjoy the sight of kestrels, skylarks, and even the occasional rare species like the stone curlew.

Visitors to Range Park can explore its extensive network of footpaths and trails, which offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The park also provides ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, picnicking, and wildlife spotting. It is not uncommon to encounter rabbits, deer, and various small mammals while traversing the park's trails.

In addition to its natural beauty, Range Park is also home to a visitor center, where individuals can learn more about the local flora and fauna through informative exhibits and interactive displays. The center also organizes educational programs and guided tours for those eager to delve deeper into the park's ecological significance.

Overall, Range Park in Suffolk is an enchanting destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking tranquility amidst stunning landscapes.

St Michael's pulpit The style of decoration, recalling cake icing, is unusual in an English church though it might be more common in central Europe. But they are also conscious of health and safety issues here; one of the church's many colourful kneelers seems to be positioned to guard against the preacher tripping on the narrow stone step, and an extinguisher is at the ready in case the sermon contains anything too inflammatory!
