North end of the Green, Long Melford Long Melford is aptly named, with the parish church of the Holy Trinity at the northern end of the village being some 2 kms away from places at the southern end. 
Also in the picture are the 16th century Trinity Hospital almshouses  and the Black Lion pub on the corner of Westgate Street.

Stained glass window, Long Melford Church The figure on the left in this window represents Elizabeth Talbot, Duchess of Norfolk (c.1442), she was the daughter of the Duke of Shrewsbury and her daughter married Richard, Duke of York, one of the princes in the tower.  It is believed it was seen by Sir John Tenniel, the Victorian illustrator and was the inspiration for his illustration of the Queen of Hearts in 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.
