Raised bog near Irthington This is part of a mire consisting of Walton, Broomhill and Breaks Mosses. This area is an SSSI whilst an area further to the west is a National Nature Reserve. The trees are birches, which are scattered across the damp grassland. The northern Pennines are seen in the background to the left of picture.
