Hallington Reservoir West In normal times, the flow of water from Coltcrag Reservoir via a leat is sufficient to keep the Hallington Reservoirs topped up. However, after a prolonged period of low rainfall, the water has fallen to an exceptionally low level. An attempt is being made to top up the reservoir with water pumped from Barrasford on the River North Tyne via tunnels to an outlet on the rim of the western reservoir.
