Langton entrance lock, Liverpool These are the gates separating the River Mersey from the impounded dock system at Liverpool. This is the southernmost of the working entrances, the others no longer being functional. Seen from a bus on a tour of the docks for Heritage Open Day. Short of being on official business or given permission for a specific reason, that is about the only way to see working docks up close.
