Leighton Hall Leighton Hall viewed from the passing B4388.  The house is a grade 1 listed building which was built for John Naylor, who was one of the richest men in Victorian England, replacing an earlier house. The hall and estate buildings were designed by Liverpool architect W H Gee whilst the hall interior design in Palace of Westminster style is attributed to A W N Pugin.

Negotiating the flooded A490 The road was officially closed, but it was passable like this. There was a further flooded area behind me. The flood was not caused by the River Severn but merely build up of rain in the nearby fields.

Road closed at Cilcewydd There was flooding on the A490 around the corner, but cars were still attempting it and getting through. The alternative is through Leighton which is further round.

The Square & Compass, Cilcewydd I didn't have a chance to visit, but it appears to have retained the old facade while new accommodation blocks have been added behind.
