Rhaeadr y Bedd With my back to the edge of the falls, a view of the silent overfall of Aled Isaf. 6 Newts were observed in the pools beyond the Dam bottom. Palmate or Smooth I could not tell. They were about 10cm long and appeared to be females. I took some pix one of which I have posted.

Llyn Aled Isaf A warm pre Bank Holiday Thursday morning 21 4 11. Apart from me there was one car and two people at his spot along with a few sheep, the mewing of the Buzzards and hardly a breath of wind. Someone sent me a text telling me it was 'Solid' on the M6. I sauntered down to look at Newts in the pools beyond the dam.

Moorland at Moel Goch Sheep farming is the predominant industry here in the Denbigh Moors. My first impression of this grid square was one of peace and tranquillity. Then the farmer came out of nowhere on his quad bike. Then I got buzzed several times by RAF Hawk jets and later on a Police helicopter showed up. Then there's the ubiquitous shotgun firing and dogs barking in the distance.
