When the A140 bypass was built this road became redundant and has been turned into a cycleway and footpath. The old road markings can still be seen.

Alby Church from the west

Seen across a field of developing rape from the southeast end of Pack Lane. The OS 1:25,000 map displays the legend 'Hall' in two locations near the church. From 1886 the OS map shows a rectory NE of the church. From 1906 there is also a Sunday School NW of the church. Both are still shown in 1950. From 1971 the rectory is shown as The Old Rectory and the Sunday School as Church Hall. Another Hall is shown at the E end of Town Green, 200m WSW of the church hall. Zooming in reveals the former Rectory and Sunday School buildings to the left of the church.
