Court Park is a picturesque woodland located in the county of Suffolk, England. Nestled in the heart of the countryside, this enchanting forest covers an area of approximately 300 acres, offering visitors a tranquil and scenic escape from the bustling city life.

The wood is predominantly made up of a mixture of deciduous and coniferous trees, creating a diverse and vibrant ecosystem. Towering oak, beech, and ash trees provide a leafy canopy, while spruce and pine trees add a touch of evergreen beauty. This combination of trees creates a rich and varied wildlife habitat, attracting an array of birds, small mammals, and insects.

A network of well-maintained footpaths winds its way through the park, allowing visitors to explore its natural splendor. These paths lead to hidden clearings, babbling brooks, and enchanting ponds, providing opportunities for peaceful walks and picnics amidst the tranquility of nature. The wood is also home to a small lake, where visitors can enjoy fishing or simply admire the serene surroundings.

Court Park holds significant historical importance, with remnants of ancient settlements dating back to the Iron Age. Archaeological excavations have unearthed artifacts and evidence of human habitation, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the woodland's charm.

The park is open to the public year-round, offering a range of recreational activities such as walking, wildlife spotting, and nature photography. With its idyllic setting and rich biodiversity, Court Park is a haven for nature lovers and provides a much-needed retreat from the demands of modern life.

Look both ways before crossing. This is the old main road out of Bury St Edmunds towards Ipswich, now supplanted by the A14. I'd parked up at Bury St Edmunds truckstop and gone for a walk with my camera. This wasn't the most scenic location - it seems to be mostly used for flytipping these days - but I was interested to find the old cats' eyes in the road surface.
