Bizarre bridge from Kent to Sussex This bridge once had wheels - presumably ex-army. The right hand end appears unsupported, as the bank has eroded from beneath it, but it seems to be held up by two trees growing through the girders on each side. The stream is the Kent Ditch, looking a good deal different from its canalized state down on the Rother Levels.

Old pond bay? The footpath towards Conghurst Farm follows the bank on the left over the stile to bridge the Kent Ditch from Sussex into Kent. It then follows a similar bank to reach higher ground. The bank appears to be a long low pond bay, although not noted on maps as such.
