Footpath across farmland This field of greens does provide a much clearer idea of where the path goes. With a bit of rain overnight, the paths have very quickly become claggy, despite constant dry weather for the previous few weeks.

Not an obvious diversion The footpath previously went through Allexton Lodge (behind the hedge to the right), but has been officially diverted. Its route is not immediately obvious, but after following this hedge for about 50 yards it heads diagonally downhill towards the first gap from the left on the first horizon.

What's over the hill? Well actually what's on the horizon? Yes, it is a hare, but this was the closest I got to it. It heard me as soon as I touched the gate latch. Bales on the left suggest grazing land, although this is primarily an arable area.
