Long Dene Wood is a picturesque woodland located in Buckinghamshire, England. Covering an area of approximately 200 acres, it is known for its diverse flora and fauna, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and hikers alike.

The wood is predominantly composed of broad-leaved trees such as oak, beech, and hazel, creating a dense canopy that provides shelter for a variety of wildlife. These include deer, foxes, badgers, and a range of bird species, making it an ideal location for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.

Traversing through Long Dene Wood, visitors will find a network of well-maintained footpaths and trails, allowing them to explore the area at their own pace. The wood is known for its tranquil atmosphere, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

In addition to its natural beauty, Long Dene Wood also holds historical significance. It is believed to have been part of the ancient forest of Bernwood, which once covered a vast area of central England. Remnants of this ancient forest can still be seen in the form of ancient trees and the presence of rare plant species.

Long Dene Wood is open to the public year-round and offers a range of recreational activities, including walking, picnicking, and photography. It is a haven for nature lovers, providing an opportunity to immerse oneself in the beauty of Buckinghamshire's countryside.
