Holy Trinity Church, Llandrindod (1982)

The original Holy Trinity Church, believed to date from the C12th. Following the building of a new church nearer the centre of the developing town the roof was removed to encourage residents to use the new church SO0561 : Holy Trinity Church, Llandrindod. The church was considerably renovated in 1895. The first Archbishop of Wales was elected here in 1920.

Llandrindod Lake was originally a peat bog where local people cut winter fuel. With the increasing numbers of visitors to the town's spa "taking the waters" in Victorian times, the stream was dammed and the pools were made deeper to create a popular boating and punting facility. Today it is an important habitat for local wildlife.
