The Pulpit is a prominent coastal feature located in Cornwall, England. It is a headland that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding coastline. Positioned near the town of Polzeath, The Pulpit is a popular destination for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and photographers.

The headland is characterized by its rugged cliffs, which rise steeply from the sea, creating a dramatic and picturesque landscape. The cliffs are composed of sedimentary rocks, displaying various layers and formations that have been shaped by centuries of erosion from the relentless waves. The Pulpit is particularly striking during high tide, when the crashing waves create an awe-inspiring spectacle.

Visitors can access The Pulpit via a well-maintained footpath that winds its way along the cliff edge. Along the route, hikers can enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, with the possibility of spotting marine wildlife such as dolphins, seals, and seabirds. The headland is also home to a diverse range of plant species, including hardy grasses and wildflowers that cling to the cliff faces.

At the tip of The Pulpit, there is a small platform that resembles a pulpit, hence its name. This platform provides an ideal vantage point to marvel at the panoramic vistas, capturing the beauty of the rugged coastline and the vastness of the ocean. The Pulpit truly exemplifies the natural splendor of Cornwall's coastline and continues to captivate visitors with its breathtaking views and dramatic landscapes.

Penberth Cove A lot of these rocks are covered at high tide, with a narrow channel for boats to access the slipway. We saw seals here. I spotted one about 50 metres offshore. A fisherman was adamant it was a buoy. His eyesight is going, it was a seal.
